Heather is a passionate educator with sixteen years of experience helping students to maximize their potential and to reach their goals. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a certificate in Human Resource Management from Post University. Heather began her career with thirteen years in group insurance at Aetna, Inc., including roles in financial underwriting and post-sale quality consulting, which honed her keen attention to detail. Upon transitioning her career to education, Heather spent fifteen years in Connecticut, teaching and mentoring students, including ESL students and GED candidates. Her students were admitted to institutions that include Boston College, Tufts University, Northeastern University, Bentley University, Villanova University, William and Mary, American University, University of Richmond, Davidson College, and the University of Notre Dame.

Heather has high expectations for her students and gives them the support they need to succeed. She believes each college applicant has an intriguing story to tell and draws out his or her unique voice through creative brainstorming, a solid outline, and an introduction with a strong hook to draw the attention of admission representatives. Heather’s experience editing common and supplemental essays will ensure error-free essay submissions.  

In the summer of 2022, after their twin sons graduated from the University of Notre Dame, Heather and her husband David moved from Connecticut to the Sarasota, Florida, area. Heather, currently a tutor and substitute teacher, is thrilled to assist students of College Planning Source with their college application essays. In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, walking on the beach, reading, and exploring her new state.
