Student Lifehacks to Keep You Organized During College Applications Season 1

It can be a nightmare trying to keep everything straight when you are applying to multiple colleges. Here are some of our favorite tips to help you stay organized and make sure all of those applications get sent off on time and without having to rush an essay at the last second.

  • Get a Folder for Each School – You’re going to have a lot of papers to shuffle around. Dividing everything up by school can help you avoid wasting time searching for something. Start other folders for the information you need on many of your applications, such as financial documents or test scores.
  • Start Early – Procrastination leads to mistakes that could cost you the chance to go to the school of your dreams. Get a head start during the Spring of your junior year, and make sure you start working on your essays as soon as possible since that is usually the most time-consuming part of the applications.
  • Use a Digital Calendar with Reminders – Input important dates onto your Apple, Google, or other calendar on your phone. Make sure you are getting reminder notices well in advance of each thing you have to accomplish, so there is no rush.
  • Join a Webinar – For example, our “Detailed Timelines” webinar takes you from the Spring of your junior year through the applications process.
