Jacklyn has over a decade of experience in writing instruction and one-on-one student mentoring. She currently teaches American Literature and AP Literature. She is a proud graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Psychology and an M.A. in Teaching and Curriculum with a Reading Specialization.
Jacklyn is passionate about storytelling and brings a deep understanding of voice, purpose, and audience to her work with college applicants. With years of experience guiding students through the essay-writing process, she is known for her meticulous attention to detail and her belief that every student has a unique perspective worth sharing. Her approach centers on encouragement, clarity, and helping students build confidence in who they are and how they express themselves. She desires to help students authentically tell their stories.
She lives in Michigan with her husband and two children. She treasures family game nights (especially Settlers of Catan) and summer days at the lake. Outside of teaching, she enjoys running half-marathons, cooking, golfing, and, of course, reading.
