Lauren Z.

Lauren Zarovy is a college counselor with a background in both school counseling and university admissions. She began her career in 2007 as a high school counselor in Del Mar, California, where she guided students through academic planning, college exploration, and the application process. Most recently, Lauren served as a first-year application reader for the University of California, Irvine, where she evaluated applications using a holistic review process and gained valuable insight into how admissions decisions are made.

Lauren is passionate about helping students navigate the college process with clarity and confidence. She believes that effective college planning is about finding the right academic, social, and personal fit for each student. As both a counselor and a parent, she understands the emotions that often accompany this journey and strives to make the process calm, organized, and manageable. 

A proud San Diego native, Lauren studied Psychology at the University of San Diego before earning her M.A. in Counseling from Marquette University. She holds a Pupil Personnel Services Credential and now lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and three children. Outside of counseling, Lauren enjoys gardening, practicing yoga, and volunteering with her children’s schools and her local library. Book recommendations always welcome!
