Sarah DerOvanesian

We're Here to Help

Sarah’s passion is helping students reach their educational goals and she has worked toward that end with students in a variety of settings. She began her career by earning a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and went on to earn a Masters in School Counseling and a certificate in College Counseling. In addition to being an Essay Specialist, she has experience working as a high school counselor, reading college applications for admissions offices and scoring standardized tests.

In her role as a school counselor, Sarah has seen students through every step of the college-going process. However, of all the tasks involved in partnering with students as they apply to college, she most enjoys helping students with the essay writing experience.  Starting with the initial steps of helping each student build an awareness of his or her strengths, Sarah enjoys the opportunity to get to know students and their unique stories. She finds it so rewarding to partner with students as they refine those stories in a way that gives universities a dynamic vision of who they are and what they offer. Her ability to develop relationships and craft compelling narratives, combined with her strong foundation in writing fundamentals, will enable her to assist you through every step of the essay writing process.

Sarah is a San Diego native who loves getting out and taking advantage of all the city has to offer, from the beaches to the mountains. She’s a proponent of self care for all and practices yoga, hikes, journals and enjoys quality time with friends. She loves to read, primarily novels, and is looking forward to adding your essays to her reading list!
